Bridging the skills gap
Battery Associates leads vocational and educational programmes to meet the pressing need for qualified workers along the battery value chain.
Why Battery education matters
With batteries playing a tremendous role in the energy transition, it is essential to develop a highly skilled workforce along the entire battery value chain.
The European Battery Alliance estimates the battery workforce to reach around 800,000 by 2025. The sector however lacks adequate battery-focused trainings and B.A hopes to address the skills gap.
BatteryMBA is a 12-week CPD accredited programme for aspiring battery leaders worldwide. BatteryMBA provides battery enthusiasts a series of industry-focused lectures combining in-depth technical and business knowledge around battery topics. Lectures are taught by recognised industry leaders and topics range from lithium-ion battery cell production to clean tech market trend analysis.
The programme relies on a global network of battery leaders and provides continuous training since participants have access to all prior and future lecture recordings.
Our first cohort’s 24 participants came from 12 countries and represented: Hitachi ABB Power Grids, BP, Scania, ACCURE, and other industry leaders. Lecturers include: CTO of Hitachi ABB Power Grids, CEO of Siemens Oman, CEO of volytica diagnostics, Co-founder of Alexa Capital, and others. Our first cohort proudly counts 50% of women. Our next programme starts on September 13, 2021.
